About The Artist

Pauline Montgomery trained at the Glasgow School of Art (1992-1996) graduating with a first class honours degree in ceramic design. After years of working in retail, getting married and raising a family, she finally purchased her first kiln and returned to ceramics full time three years ago.
The main influence in her work is the beauty in everyday, mundane objects and she is inspired by the way our environment can evoke different emotions. These themes are explored in all her work but they can particularly be seen in her ceramic houses which have become her signature pieces.
Everything is hand built using various earthenware and Scottish brick clay.
