Robert Hind
Robert Pereira Hind is a fine art photographer who received his BA and MA in photography from the London College of Communication and has exhibited his work internationally ever since. His gold leaf series ‘Out of Eden’ is inspired by Byzantine religious iconography and botanical illustration. Pereira Hind feels a sense of awe within the natural landscape, and in this series of works we see him transform wild flowers & trees into a secular icons. An important element of his work is that each piece is completely unique and, over the years, will tarnish and change in appearance. As the gold background oxidises and in turn, metamorphoses, the work will become more atmospheric and dramatic. He loves the idea that each piece will age differently, and each piece will acquire more character over time.
